A feature film by Nicolas Ehret | Starring Enno Trebs, Ulrich Matthes, Naila Schuberth, Susanne Bredehöft | Drama/Dystopia | Germany | 2026 | 114 min. | German | DCP-4K | FSK 12
The EU has collapsed, and right-wing populist forces have formed a new government in Germany. War is imminent. Jonas (Enno Trebs) deserts and hides together with his sister (Naila Schuberth) at his father Stuber’s (Ulrich Matthes) place, with whom he has had no contact since childhood. Yet simply in trying to “be on the right side of history”, the situation escalates and leads to a catastrophe—before the war has even begun.

“Echos of tomorrows war” tackles highly topical issues such as militarization, social division, and how to deal with displacement and responsibility—and in doing so, poses the central question: If war were to start tomorrow, what would you do?
Visually striking and emotionally intense, the film unfolds as a drama about guilt, fear, and identity. A powerful, unnervingly realistic film that captures the spirit of our times and continues to resonate with audiences long after they leave the theater.
